The Hungarian Railways conference this year focused on the energy crisis and the climate crisis in its fourth session.

Within his presentation „Energy efficiency – just a technical issue?” Márton Feldmann, Deputy CEO of Prolan, described potential solutions that are already available in Prolan's resources to enable railway companies  as well as infrastructure operators to reduce their energy costs.

Distribution network control equipments, traffic management automation, on-board systems all offer significant cost savings through the more efficient traffic and operations already. However, besides the technical solutions, it is the people who use these system that are the most important of it.

As the current social perception of the railways is rather negative, co-operation is a must in order to offer attractive career paths for both technical and traffic employees.
