First is the first Prolan robot
The Faketelen Taxi team represented Prolan for the first time this year in the RobonAUT 2020 robot race of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, but not the first time they built an autonomous vehicle to win the first place.
After the victory of last year our colleagues this year, instead of rebuilding a factory car, designed a brand new one. The car has 14 microcontrollers, 12 motors, an SBC (Rasberry Pi 3 B +) and completely unique mechanical components. The vehicle is equipped with integrated drive electronics to increase the vehicle's cornering torque vectoring. With innovations, hardware design, and the elaboration of each mechanical solution, they not only created a mechanical platform far beyond the past, but also by far the most complex and daring construction in the history of RobonAUT.
The race consists of two parts, one skill and one speed. During both tasks, a line glued to the floor had to be followed. A skill track is a labyrinth where the goal is to traverse all line sections of an unknown track. The speed track must be run as fast as possible within a 50 meter circle. In this year's race, the Prolan robot completed the task with maximum points.
The solutions of the Faketelen Taxi team have been followed with great interest on the spot by the race sponsors, because the technologies used are of the same standard as the manufacturers of autonomous robots on the market today.
Here again we congratulate our colleagues on their outstanding performance and confident victory.
