Success of Prolan Steuerbox in german press
In 2017 the introduction of the smart metering (Intelligentes Messsystem, IMSys) has started in Germany. As a first step new meters are installed at the consumers according to the specification of the system, then communications gateways are going to be installed that correspond tot he highest safety standards. By this remote meter reading will be facilitated. Due to the stability of the grid the German regulation demands all consumers that have energy generation above 7kW capacity and 10,000 kWh yearly consumption that the system should include a relay unit, the so-called Steuerbox too.
Prolan is supplier of German electric utilites for many years and member of the prestigous FNN association. By this market peresence and many decades of experience and expertise in device development we have started to develop our own Steuerbox in line with strickt German requirements. One of the key milestone of the development is that together with the stablished local meter manufacturer EMH and the recognised system provider Robotron we have successfully accomplished a teszt. At the premises of EMH in Hamburg our colleagues have set up an environment including a meter, a gateway and the steurbox and the a command was given from the HQ of Robotron in Dresden through IEC 61850 protocol. The click of the relay as well as its backward confirmation as demonstrated the success of the pilot, first of that kind ont he German market.
The German language report on the successful test of EMH can be found here. A number of German professional portals have reported on successful testing, including solarserver.de, pv-magazine.de and finanznachrichten.de, www.energie.de.
